Bill <kazam195@aol.com> Roscoe, IL USA - Tuesday, July 01, 2008 at 09:11:57 (CDT) We were out again yesterday (Sunday June 30th). Skunk city! Not a single hit. Tried everything in my arsenal (not real impressive yet considering this is my first year). Started with Harvo Jointed's, various colors then moved to inline marabou spinners, then to smaller rapalla's. Changed speed, depth, and lure out distance many times. Found some great looking weed structure in about 14 FOW near 9 Mile , even marked many big fish. Anyone else out there having luck? If so where and how?? JB. JB <jmboland$oakland.edu> Madison Heights, MI USA - Monday, June 30, 2008 at 11:36:39 (CDT) Went out 6/27 from 1pm until the storm hit us. We figured it was time to get off when our planer board mast started to buzz...not good. We had a great day. Ended up 2/4. Missed first release, gone before we got there. Second was my buddies first for the season, a nice 49" pig. On the planer board, 1.5oz and 40 back, 15 fow, 4 MPH, 4" fire tiger woodies. Third was one for a bit, felt like another pig, but got to the surface and threw the hook despite a very tight line. Also on the planer board, with 1.5oz and 40 back, 15 fow, 4 MPH, 4" fire tiger woodies. The next hot lure for pics maybe??? Last but not least was another, yes another, 49" beast. On a blue from Mason, 5 oz, 25 feet back, 15 fow, 4 mph, on a downrod. I am mailing The Rocketman some pics as well. They look like the same fish, but if you look at the tail, one has a sore, and the other does not. Also the anal fin is in 3 sections on 1 and is one solid piece on the other. Probably one of the best days we have had. We had the pleasure of meeting a couple fisherman from Traverse City at the launch trying to get out of the rain. Hope you guys had a productive evening. Also, Bill John was down from Illinois for some musky, so we chatted a bunch with him. Always good to meet fellow musky fisherman. Tight lines. Jordan Rivington <jordan.rivington@gmail.com> Windsor, On Canada - Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 09:37:16 (CDT) Kawartha Muskies Hi Kurt, Trip was great. More fish than I had anticipated. My biggest was 44.5' (it's a smaller eutrophic lake). Didn't get to use the Terminators as much as I would have liked a cold fronts hit us and we switched up tactics. Here are a couple pics of one I got on the T3 $9 bass. Your motto can now be, 'Terminators, not just for Lake St. Clair, they slay fish everywhere!' Dave Kawartha Lake, Ontario, CA - Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 11:21:58 (CDT) Went out June 18th. Went 1 for 2. First was 36" 13lb 8oz. Got him on a Harvo Jointed "Dog Turd" 25' back, off a downrod about 4.5 mph in 8 fow near Selfridge. The second hit the same lure in 7 fow on the east side of Anchor Bay near Dickinson Island. Didn't even get a look at him but he pulled enough line off my reel before throwing the hook to make me a little hopeful that I was going to get my first 30lb'r. Next time... JB <jmboland$oakland.edu> Madison Heights, MI USA - Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 11:29:58 (CDT) Went out on 06/19. Went 3/3. Unfortunately all were very small. All in the exact same area out front of red barn. BAITFISH EVERYWHERE. 15 FOW. 4 MPH troll. 2 on black sucker woodies (white belly) and other on blue frog Mason. All on the down rods, all 25' back, 2 with 3oz and other with 5oz. Like I said though, all small. First was 28", second was 31", third was 32". Tight lines. Jordan Rivington <jordan.rivington@gmail.com> Windsor, On Canada - Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10:45:07 (CDT) It went well. We went 1 for 3. First was gone before we got to the rod, but definitely pulled some line. Second was in the boat at 32", so small, but a musky. Now, the 3rd fish was hooked on a lure running 25' back, but when we lost it was 450 feet back (and the line counter doesn't lie). Didn't matter how much I slowed the boat, drag kept going. Would have thought snag, but when it came to the surface and shook the hook, there was no mistaking it. Biggest musky I have ever seen, and that is at 400+ feet away. What a disappointment. We had a new musky fisherman with us and it was his turn. Made some rookie errors, thinking if my cousin or I had a whack, we would have landed it. At first when he got it out of the rod holder, it pulled and he fell, so I am sitting driving the boat and my cousin and him are rolling around on the floor and I am yelling keep it tight...lol. It happens I guess. Anyhow, good trip other than that. Fished from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm. The fish came as follows (all @ 4-4.2 mph) 1. black sucker woodies on planer board with 1.5oz and 50' back 2. blue frog mason on down rod with 3 oz and 25' back 3. (biggun) 9$ bass on down rod with 5 oz and 25' back All three were in 14-16 fow out in front of puce river on the south shore. Tight lines Jordan Rivington <jordan.rivington@gmail.com> Windsor, Ontario Canada - Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 09:58:39 (CDT) Finally scored our first Musky! 49" long and 23lbs. Caught it in anchor bay on a bucktail spinner 2oz weight 42 back on longrod. We definately paid our dues with many hours of trolling. Mikey (age 11) fought and the fish on his own. What a great fathers day! Thanks again Rocketman for your site, we would not have been this far along without your help. Chaz and Mikey Seremjian <seremjian@comcast.net> Brighton, MI USA - Monday, June 16, 2008 at 13:27:08 (CDT) First Musky trip to St. Clair for Mikey and I. We trolled in anchor bay for 10 hours 6:30am to 4:30PM. 1 pike lost at the boat and 1 other good rip. No musky's boated. What a slow day! Many weeds and debris floating. I guess that is all a part of the learning process. Thanks to Rocketman and all of you who have helped us to learn. Look forward to posting our first sucessful trip. Chaz and Mikey Seremjian <seremjian@comcast.net> Brighton, MI USA - Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 22:08:31 (CDT) To quote my report from last years opening day... Fished opening day. Did terrible. Fished from 8 fow through 18 fow and tried every lure in the box. Speed went from 2-4 mph. Not a weed on any line. Tried 1 oz to 10 oz 10-60' back. Not a single rip. So hot but there was enough wind/waves for perfect musky fishing conditions. Tight Lines Jordan Rivington <jordan.rivington@gmail.com> Windsor, On Canada - Monday, June 09, 2008 at 08:58:44 (CDT) Last Saturday me and my dad and brother went walleye fishing and we had no luck. So we went to a marina wall that we know always has bass. We caught about 40-50 bass and I was reeling in a smallmouth bass and I seen the fish come to the surface about 30' out and a huge muskie took my bass and he went right to the bottom and my drag was going out I fought the fish about 5-10 minutes and got the muskie to the boat. My brother tried to net it but the net wasn't big enough. The muskie fell out of the net spit the bass out and I started to reel in the bass and the muskie struck again and my pole bent again and drag went out again. About ten minutes later get the fish back to the boat my brother netted it and tried to lift him to the boat and the net snapped in half and he spit the bass and the bass came off and that was it. All on a bass rod with 6# fire line. It was a big muskie. Can't wait till the season opens.
