We went fishing from 11:30 am to 5:00pm on Sunday December 14. Wind was slight from the southeast, then calm, then slight from the northwest, weather was cloudy with scattered snow, air temp around 30, water temp from 31?? to 33. Weather was stable. Clarity ranged from cloudy blue to brown. We fished the dumps with decent water although if you moved into canada it was very brown. Barometer was around 29.9 and falling slowing. We went 0 for 1 with the hit around 4 pm. It was on a WB Perch Wiley Jointed on a planer board, 4 oz. and 40'. Tough way to end the season although we were the second boat at the Harrison Township ramp which made life easier since they had beaten a path through the ice. Overall, a really tough fall - in 9 trips, I think we only got 9 muskies and 2 pike. Of the muskies, 1 was the 51 inch monster and 2 were upper teens in weight, the other 6 were small (25 to 35 inch). See you all next year (Rocketman - you better start working out over the winter, you turned into a complete p@$$y this fall!)

Fished Anchor Bay Sunday, 12/7. Water temp around 39 out in the bay, calm seas, water pretty clear. 3 for 6, biggest was 40". Lost another one that was much bigger right off the bat. Other two fish were small -- 27" muskie and a fat 32" pike, both on downrods. Clinton River ramp had 200' of ice around it to crunch thru. Another cold snap will probably seal it.

We went fishing from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm on Sunday December 7. Wind was minimal from the north, then calm, then minimal from the south, weather was mostly sunny, air temp around 30, water temp from 31?? to 38. Weather was stable. Clarity ranged from cloudy blue to brown. We fished the south channel and huron point as the dumps and the spillway were very brown. Barometer was around 30.2. We went 1 for 1 with a little 30 inch musky at the mouth of anchor bay. It was on a YB Perch Wiley King Jointed on a planer board, 4 oz. and 50'. The catch was around 3:30. Also, I never filed a report since it wasnt very exciting but we went 2 for 2 on November 28 with a little 25 incher and a 42 incher, 19 lber. Both were on a Helin Frog TX on a planer board. Day was miserable, rain, snow high winds. Hope to get out next weekend but the ice may cut us off.

We went fishing from 10:30 am to 5:15 pm on Sunday November 16th. Wind was strong from the south, weather was mostly cloudy, air temp around 60, water temp around 44. A major front was moving into the area. Clarity ranged from cloudy blue to brown. We fished the dumping grounds and near the Puce in 11 to 15 feet of water. Barometer was around 29.9. We went 1 for 2 with the lost fish being a good rip and the caught fish being a 41.5 inch, 19.5 lb musky. Both were on a Helin Frog TX on a planer board, 4 oz. and 35'. The hit and miss was around 11:30 and the caught fish around 4. In between the wind was very strong making it hard to fish (near 20 knots). It did settle down nicely around 3:30 until dark. Hoping for better luck over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Went out today (Nov 21st)Noon till 6pm. Zero-Zip, no rips at all. Fished 8ft to 16 fow, mostly 10 to 12 ft out from new DNR launch down to GPYC. Are they all in the dumps or Canadian water? Just bad timing? Should have been up in a treestand.

We went fishing from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm on Sunday November 16th. Wind was slight from the east, weather was cloudy, air temp around 40, water temp around 41. Clarity ranged from fair to dirty - most was dirty. We fished along the US Gross Pointe shoreline and along the shipping channel as the dumping grounds was very dirty. Barometer was around 30.1. We went 0 for 0 although we did have a large fish which appeared to be a musky jump up out of the water behind one of the planer board lines. Couldnt tell if it came up and threw a lure or just coming up, I suspect the former as it was about where the lure would have been. Quite a letdown after last week.

Went fishing Saturday November 8 the same place Rocketman was. North of 9 mile tower and south of Metro beach. I don't know how Rocketman got any fishing done with those Muskie Babes he had on Board in there Rabbit Fur coats,Pink Gloves, and furry Ear Muffs.... It looked like "Jim" and "Joe" were haveing a fine time. Was that Champaign you guy's were drinking Rocketman?... Anyhow, We went 1 for 2 possibly 3. The boated fish was caught by Bruce. A nice 12 pounder with a Nice Fat belly on a TX Dogturd. Downrod: with 8oz. down and about 6 feet back. I did the "Retrieve of Shame" with the lost fish. It hit a TX Fire Bass on the board rod. 30ft. back and 2 oz. down. This fish was Huge. I pulled a tooth from bait a few day's later that would make you think twice of swimming in lake St.Clair. Loseing that one Hurt. One month Left. Tight Lines. CPR.

Well after all the fishing we did this fall we finally have a report that is worthwhile. Fished from one till five today and managed to score three for three, the first and second minutes after we put in, the third around 3PM. Nice fall fatties the first a fat 50 incher and then a 45 and a 42 incher, approx. 70 pounds of Musky a fine time was had by all. All three fish came on a nine inch firetiger Cisco kid with about 25 feet out no weight in about 13 feet of water. Water temp 44 degrees, we fished the American side from Gaukler to Crescent sail club in stained water. Life is good. Crew of the Channel Cruiser.

We went fishing from 11:45 am to 5:45 pm on Sunday November 9th. Wind was calm, weather was sunny, air temp around 40, water temp around 43. Clarity ranged from clear to dirty - in patches somewhat. We fished along the US Canadian border in the dumping grounds. Barometer was high, around 30.7 but dropping. We went 3 for 4 with an AWESOME 51 inch musky with a 25 inch girth. We weighed it on 4 different scales that we had in the boat and it weighed 37 lbs on the two spring scales and 39 lbs on the two digital scales. The person who caught it kept it so we will have an official weight tomorrow. The fish was caught at 12:30 on a Terminator TX Helin Frog on the down rod 12' back, 10 oz. We also caught a 38.5 inch 17 lb musky and a 38 inch 13 lb musky. These were both on a Brown Jointed Wiley King, first on a planer board and second on a boat rod about 25' back. We also had a hit and miss on a WB Bluescale Terminator Tx on a planer board at 4 oz, 30 ft. And by the way, lets not everyone jump on the Chocolate Perch Nils bandwagon, so many people are using these now that I actually caught one attached to a 12 oz weight. Digital pictures to follow in a few days on the monster!!!!

How did your hero, the Rocketman, do today?
Went fishing on Saturday, November 8 from 11:00am until 5:30pm. Fished Lake St. Clair, L'anse Creuse Bay with Jim and Joe. Went 3 for 4. Air temperature in the 30s, water temp range 48-50F, mostly sunny with winds NW 5-10, water somewhat cloudy and not much weeds. Launched at the DNR Ramp and put lines out as soon as we got to 11 feet deep. Jim got a dink on almost as soon as got done setting up. That one hit a Terminator TX Bluefrog 10/8 on a downrod. Marked bait and big fish pretty good so stayed in the area. Second one was another small one about 6lbs on a TX Steelhead 30/0 on a longrod, then Jim got a 10lbr on an old Terminator S/E Straight Eddie Sucker 20/4 on a slider and finally a good rip that we missed on a TX $9 Bass on a downrod 10/8. We didn't get the one we wanted but 3 for 4 isn't too bad considering the extreme cold front conditions.

Fished Tuesday Nov 4th from 1 till dark. Started on east on of shipping channel - usually good this time of year. Nothing - worse than that, 3rd time there in as many weeks - nothing. Slid over to the dumping grounds. Caught 1 musky ~10lbs and a 10lb pike. They didn't seem to hit until we slowed below 4 mph on the GPS. This is against all the rules for fall! Caught both fish on the south west end of the dumps. Hope this helps. Is anyone else still fishing?

We went fishing on Sunday November 2 from 12:30 to 5:30 in the Puce/Dumping Grounds area. Weather was calm and foggy, water was very clear, no floating weeds to speak of. Air temp was warm - in the 60's, water temp right around 50. Barometer was falling. We went 2 for 2. Both fish small, 31" and maybe 25". Both fish on a Helin Frog Stalker, 4oz, 40' on a planer board. Fish were caught at 3:30 and 4:30. Ran some TX's and Nils but nothing - maybe the fish were too small.

Fished - again - 15 mile to the dumping grounds on St/11/1, and - again - NOTHING! Very dissappointing. Calm seas, too many floating weeds from 16 mile to about 11 mile - then it was OK. Fished in 9-16 ft of water. With all the pearch in the area, you would think the musky would be close by - although maybe that is the problem - too many perch to choose from?? I hope they all haven't decided to swim over to the Belle River area - can't be. I don't know -any help, reports, ideas?? I just might position myself in the middle of the pearch-pak & start casting! Anybody fishing the North channel? Gordy 11/3

Went to the mouth of the river today with a Bass fisherman but convinced him to try trolling for a Musky for a little while first. I think I have a Convert! Went up towards the dumps and I put on a straight T-3 in perch for him and promised that it was the best lure I had with me. Wasn't 20 minutes and he was holding a 48 inch 25 pounder! His grin was as big as the fish. She swam away strong so he can catch her next year too. Thanks Rocketman for the great Terminator!

Fished the south shore with the other 20 boats on 10/25. Water temp around 50 and that off green color. Hard to get a good reading on it as it was overcast most of the day. Rain early then calm. Only went 2 for 3 nothing over 20#. Chocolate perch nils (of course)and w/b perch lapmaster. All fish up high, but on boat rods. Saw Rocketman trolling east down canadian line just before dark. Assumed he did better. Oh well.

How did your hero, the Rocketman, do today?
Kind of Sucked!
Went fishing on Saturday, Oct 25 from 1:00pm until 7:00pm. Fished the US side, generally in the SW corner. Air temperature in the 60s, water temp range 48-52F, mostly cloudy with winds W 5-15, water somewhat cloudy and weedy. Weeds got worse north of GPYC. Never found any concentrations of bait or big fish. Caught a dink crossing the shipping channel on a TX Dogturd on a downrod. That was it.

I fished the dumping grounds sunday 10/26, weather was ok, breezy sun and clouds, trolled 3 lines, natural colors in 10-15 FOW and caught nothing! It was better than staying home and watching the Lions though. I saw 2 other boats fishing in the area. I thought autum was supposed to be a good time for musky fishing?? Is it too early?

My third time fishing for Muskie and finally success. On Sat. Oct 25 nailed a beautiful fish on the dumps at about 2:15pm. What a rush! I was by myself and when I saw the size of the thing my first thought was "How the hell am I going to get this thing off of my line"? I was fishing with a gold and black crankbait/deepdiver in 11 to 12 ft of water at about 4.5mph. I let him tire himself out and almost lost him trying to net him. Once in the net I managed to get the lure out of his mouth and my net. I don't know how to hold these fish and he looked exhausted so I was reluctant to pull him in the boat. I got three picture off though and released him without measuring him, which I regret. See you out there on Sunday weather permitted, I'm hooked!

I fished with two great friends Deric Black, a police officer from Kinross who C.P.R. a 37 1/2 muskie, Murry Richy from Mount Pleasent who C.P.R. a musky 42 1/2. A real nice day so far then it was my turn when she hit and Deric grabed the rod. No one home so he put the rod back in the holder and I got up and walked to the back of the boat when the rod ripped agin. I know had a fish on, and the battle began. After several minits and several visuals of this huge fish Deric grabed the net and boated the fish for me. A 47 1/2" musky that weighed 38 1/2#s. One RHINOCEROS of a fish. A neighboring boat came over and filmed the release of this magnificent fish. What a great day with the fall colors, sun shine, good friends, and great Muskie. I thank the lord for great days like this and to shar them with good friends makes it even better. Muskie Bert :) :+ :-) ;-) :9 ;) :P

Was down in the river walleye fishing at the sandpiles next to the green can. Dropped the aquaview camera down and found that the whole bottom was filled with suckers and sheephead. I seen a muskie on camera for the first time , holding tight on the bottom also. We boated 1 muskie while Jigging and seen 4 others caught . Next time I'll be down there with different gear . There's gotta be a big one around there feasting on those suckers. Chris

This weekend has been a great one, I guided two days and we C.P.R. 6 muskie, 2 master angler fish a 42 and a 43" muskie. Those fishing Small Mouth are limiting out every day as are the Walleye fishermen. The perch fishing has been decent with perch up to 14' in length. I have been getting limits of wood cock and several Grouse each day. Leves are leaving the trees as we speak. The duck hunters at my resort have been limiting out on both flight ducks and mud ducks. There are Moose and Elk roaming around hear so if your in the neighborhood drive carfull. Have a great day and get out there and enjoy this beautiful time of the year. As the leaves drop. Muskie Bert

I fished Sunday 10/12 from 7:30am until 3:00pm with Bob Wyffels on The Pequod in the MOMC tournament. The water depth was 10-16 feet with a water temperature of 52F. We went 3 for 3 on the day running Nils Masters and Musky Magnets. The first musky hit at 11:45 on a jointed 9" YB Mackerel Perch Musky Magnet running 25/4 on the inside board rod. I knew right away it was big but didn't see how big until it was 10 feet from the boat. Once we had it netted the hook fell out and the fish started spewing out shad in the boat. We put it into the live well brought in all of the lines and ran to the weigh station. She weighed in at 34 pounds and 7 ounces with a length of 49.75" without a tail squeeze and had a girth of 23.5". We then took some quick pictures and hauled her back to the lake with a good release in the cold water. This fish took first place in the Clubs tournament. The second fish hit on a straight 9" Bass Musky Magnet on a downrod at 10/10 was 33" long. The third fish was 48.25" long and over 27 pounds. This one hit a 7.5" jointed Coachdog Musky Magnet on the outside board rod at 30/4 and was second place in the Clubs quick release tournament. What a great day.

Finally got the boat back together - the Yamaha is toast - hole in the piston, the Reaper is now sporting a Big Johnson! We went fishing from 9 to 2 on Saturday 10/11. Conditions seemed good although the pressure was high, 30.1 and the wind may have been too slight from the SE. Overall water clarity was good, floating weeds were manageable, air temp was in the 70s, water temp 53-55. It was sunny. I would have thought the afternoon would be better but it looked as if Rocketman didnt do well later either. We fished down by the thames and stoney point. We went 0 for 1 plus a bonus 32" pike. Hit and miss was on a hot perch wiley on a planer board. Pike was on something on a down rod.

How did your hero, the Rocketman, do today?
Really Sucked!
Saturday, October 11. Went 0 for 0 at LSC. Fished from about 2:30 until dark. Got a late start due to I-696 being closed and driving the boat all the way to the Thames before ever putting a rod down. Conditions were mostly sunny, air temp 70s, light wind, no waves, water color clear green, visibility 2-4 feet, water temp 58F. Marked a few fish at the Thames area. Depth of 14-17 seemed to have the most but there weren't many. On the drive over didn't find any fish. Checked the Belle Hump in the 14 to19 feet depth range, Stony Point from 10 to 16 feet, and basically everywhere in between those areas. Finally pulled rods at about 5:30 and zoomed back to the northern end of the dumps. There were some fish there, including a few size 4s, but couldn't get them going at all. Oh well, dues have been paid.

Friday, October 10. Went 0 for 1 on muskies (but did catch a pike) at Skegemog. Fished from about 2:00 until dark. Conditions were mostly sunny, air temp 70s, light wind, no waves, water color clear green, visibility 8 feet, water temp 58F, Marked fish reasonably in the 15-19' depth range. The pike hit a TX Zit Frog on a downrod. It was dinky but had good taste in lures. The only hit was on a TX FireBass also on a downrod. Overall, considering the conditions I am surprised that the action was so slow.

If only I had earned more suck-up points with Rocketman and offered the beer and babes! Got out Monday 10/6 at 3:00. Water was beautiful, little to no wind, and nice temps. Weeds picked up as we approached the St. Claire light. Trolled till dark along shipping channel - both sides. Marked good fish but no takers. We are planning on repeating this on Thursday. Somebody give me a shout on the CB if you're out there. I know if I could have enticed Mr. Rocketman onto the boat with beer and babes, we would have killed them. My offer still stands though, we're shoving off about 1:00 on Thursday and I could put some beer on the boat if you're interested. Not having any musky babes available, would a steady supply of beer and a dirty magazine work?

Fishing has realy taken off in Munuscong Lake and the Saint Mary's River, Muskie are on the feed catching 2 to 6 on a good day, limits of small mouth bass, and walleye, and an ocational salmon to give you a good fight, all coming on muskie baits. There are still good no. of perch being caught also on jig heads tiped with minows. Keep that rod stiff and your bait in the water, catch lots of fish and keep that lovely lady happy. Muskie Bert

Went out on October 2nd from 3pm to 7 pm. The lake was not to bad, waves 0.5 ft. (So much for the weather report) Fished the western shore from the War Memorial to GPYC in 10 to 13 ft. of water. Went 1/1. It was our only fish of the day but it turned out to be a MONSTER! 52 inches / 35.25 pounds. Nice looking very healthy fish, I could not believe it! It was the largest live Muskie I have ever seen. The fish hit a green carp / down rod / 2 lbs. / 8 ft. of line out. She ripped almost half of the line off of the spool, we thought for a minute that it was a snag. Fish was released and swam off strong. Get out there and FISH HARD good things will happen!

Fished the american side of the south channel/st. clair light on Friday, September 26 from 2:30 to 6. Wind was from the south at 15-20, 2-3 foot waves, water was green and there were some floating weeds. Went 0 for 0. Figured this would be ideal weather. A little rough, alot of clouds, typically this has produced for me in the past. Fished every color/depth/presentation in all depths trying to get them going from 8 to 16 feet. Marked plenty of fish. The Macomb county sheriff did a drive by to check for a stinger rod, be careful, I never saw them coming. Good thing everything was legal.

The whole month of sept. has been dead for me (one fish in the last 40 hrs of trolling!) my avg. catch rate was about 1 per hour in july & aug. I have worked the south shore from pike creek past the bell river hump (over & over) from 9 ft to 17 ft of water with not even a rip, and the charter boats that I have seen have not been lifting their nets at all either! the one fish that I caught hit a t3 firetiger in 15 ft of water (4oz 20ft) out in front of gpyc (lots of floating weeds) WHERE ARE THE MUSKIES???
