TDL Gotcha, (dark frog, yellow belly) Down rod 16oz. Took four hours of no bites and lots of weeds before she finally hit. Almost fell in trying to get her swim off on her own, but she swam away fine. Trolled all the way to dumps on way back, no further sucsess.

I'll have you know that I have excellent excuses Musky Martin. Lots of 'em. In fact, it seems like every week or so a whole new unexpected one comes up. The bottom line is that it's not for lack of interest - and at least I know I am pitiful!!!

Went out on the 15th and did 0/1. The missed fish was in the same area as following report. Uncle didnt keep the lines tight, must not read our posts. Went out today and did 2/2. Both on blue frog, 1.5oz and 42 feet on boards. 4.2 MPH. 15 FOW. South shore. First was 46" and second was 42". That makes 10 fish over 40" this season so far (42+ actually). Tight Lines!!!

Went out yesterday (08/05/2007) and did 4/5. Fish were 30", 36", 38", and 42". I brought some of my wife's family out lost the first one when I tried to net the fish myself since they kept falling in the boat from the waves, LOL. Oh well. I only fought it because they were too scared...what?? Not anymore. For the remaining time, I netted everything, they brought them in. It was raining a bit, waves 1-2', water temp was 78.4, depth all in 17-18 FOW, speed was 4-4.2 MPH. 3 of 5 on boards with 1.5 oz, other two on back rods with 1.5oz. Boards were 42' back while back rods were 24'. As for the location, we will say south shore. This spot has been great to me over the last three years. It produced 9 for 12 for me in the last two trips. Hot lure this time was blue frog (3 fish), firetiger (1) and walleye (1). Tight lines!!!

Ha Ha Ha Jordan, what did you lose - a scared in-law or a muskie?????
the Rocketman

LOL, thats hilarious. It was the fish, but it was very close to losing both. I actually like this in-law so I would have thrown her a life vest. We are heading out tomorrow and Friday with a couple buddies, I will post the results when I get them. Tight lines!!!

Went Muskie Fishing 8/4/07 on LSC. A no worry late start got my bud Bruce M. and I set up Mid-Lake/Canadian side and washing baits behind his Trophy around 5:30PM. Things were looking good with bait scattered and fish marked in around 20 feet of water. Water was nice color/74 degree's, mild winds, and no weeds. Then 7:PM came around. The winds picked up. Damn Stable fly's showed up and brought the weeds with them. Left Planner board failed/fixed/failed/fixed/put out again. Waves now 2 to 3 feet. Small white caps. Two 20 pound weed bags CPR'd. Countless line checks. The Fat Lady was warming up. One possible hit on Bruces side on a T-3 Perch Mackeral (no weeds when re-set). Boards were now a lost cause due to weeds and waves. Bruce and I decided to fish two long rods on the way back to the boat launch. Incredible Sunset. Then, at around 9:PM my long rod started Screeeaming. Another weed bag?. No. The Fat Lady wasn't finished. A Fine Battle and a Fine Net job by Bruce took place before her Song was over.
It was my Biggest Muskie ever.
She was 37.7 pounds weighed on a calibrated Normark 50 lbs scale. 53 inches long, and her girth was 23 inches. She has a healed Scar over her right eye.
We released her successfully.
If you see her again, and a little bigger... give me a shout and tell her I said Hello. She completely engulphed and was caught on a Rocketman's T-3 Fag-Frog color/pattern. 45 feet back and 1 1/2 ounces in about 19 feet of water. Thanks for the Great Lures RM. No regrets on CPR. John

Hey Bud - All those zillions of hours of paying dues finally paid off huh? That's an awesome fish and it's even more awesome that you let her go. And I'll admit it - you were right all along - that Fag Frog really is a BIG FISH color!!!!!

GREAT DAY FOR SLIME!!! Went 5 for 7. All but one on boards, 1.5 oz, 42 ft. Other was down rod 24/3oz. EVERY fish was on a frog, olive, dark green, and blue. 5 of 7 on olive, one on both others. Speed 4-4.2 MPH. Location south shore. We were in 14 FOW. Wind was almost non-existent, hot (08/03/2007), got out on the water for 6:15 am. Fish were spread out roughly one per hour. This brings our season record to 9 of 12 in 7 trips. Skunked 3 times (twice on opening weekend when spawn was still on). Other skunk went 0/1 so we had a chance. Tight Lines

Went out yesterday from Belle River and heading straight to the hump. Starting trolling in 17FT of water on an angle towards Puce. Water Temp was 73 degrees and clear blue, SE winds at about 10-12MPH. First hit was at about 7:30PM and almost ripped the rod out of the boat!!!! Landed the monster after about 10-12 minutes of battling. The Musky jumped clear out of the water right behind the boat before netting it. Measured 52" and weighed about 30 pounds. Got to love the fresh water shark! Second hit was in 14ft of water and landed him, lots of energy 37"er. 2/2 trolling about 4 - 4.2MPH. Colour of lures was clown and firetiger. Got 1/1 on Tuesday 40"er same area of the lake.

Went out for a couple hours last night for the evening bite. Went 1/1 in 15 FOW. Out from red barn. Must have been swimming with boat for a bit because it didnt cause a release on the board. We noticed some good pulls on the board though. We got the clip to the boat, removed it, and then it went insane. Turned out to be a 41". Nice fish. It was on a 4.5" firetiger at 1oz/50ft. Again, 4.2 MPH.

After 6 years of multiple trips per year, Lake St. Clair finally gave up its best. Got a 44 lb beast off the south shore (near Belle River). It was 52 inches long, but had a whopping girth of 25.5 inches. Even though it was not caught on a Terminator, let me know if you would like a picture of it. Overall, we got slightly fewer fish than usual, but the fish that we did get were very healthy and had better than average girth. We went 10 for 16 in 3 days on the south shore, usually in 14 - 16 FOW between 7/10 - 7/12. Rocketman, does Lake St. Clair hold anything much bigger than that? Not sure if there is anywhere to go from here? Thanks.

The second was a 47" at 3pm in 14 FOW using a 10" mordas green perch trolled in the the prop wash at 10oz/12ft. Both were running at 4MPH. Tight Lines

My buddy and I fished Last Friday and got skunked in the "dead " water, but boated 3 Muskies on Saturday, July 7th in the afternoon - a fat 48"er, a 42"er and a 32"er. I guess 7/7/07 was our lucky day!! Got the 48 and 32 on a Mordis Green Frog(sorry Rocketman!) flatlining with 5oz weights and the 42 on a Glitter Bitch 15ft in the prop wash.. The 48 and 32 were in 15-16 feet and the 42 was in 13 feet. All 3 were off the Ruscom River.

FINALLY, yesterday (07/06/2007) went 1/2. Got a 42" fatty on a 9$ at 2/40 on the left board. In 15 FOW, trolling at 4 MPH. Weather was HOT and lake was DEAD CALM. Was not expecting anything. Was trolling home. Chop was good in morning and had a big fish on within 30 minutes, but it didnt make it to the boat. Drank lots of beer to keep cool, so it was a great day.
